How it started
About me, the artist:
I grew up sketching all over my bedroom walls (much to my father’s dismay) and crafted cards with glitter and scraps that stuck to every surface of our furniture (much to my mother’s dismay). This rebellious creativity developed into a passion for painting and drawing during my ‘gap-year’, a term that described my break from studies after high-school and before attending univeristy. I am now pursuing a career in science, which has pushed me further into art as my main creative outlet. During the stress of college exams, my friend Remi convinced me to participate in MayFair, an event at which businesses and local artists collaborate to raise funds for Cambridge. I placed second in this MayFair chalk art competition, and it was then that I realized I could fund my appetite for art by creating art. I had already begun gifting works to my friends to motivate my drawing practice and it snowballed into requests to decorate their apartments. Finally, I decided to start my own business, ColorInCards, through which individuals could comission small watercolor and sketched artworks in the form of cards to gift for special occasions. This has since evolved into requests to create larger artworks, which is now my main focus. This site is a platform for me to share with you my love of art. Thank you for supporting my passion. |
